African American Teacher Recruitment

Dear Prospective African American Teacher,

Thank you for your consideration of employment with the McCracken County School District as a certified teacher.

The McCracken County Community Career Endowment, Inc. (MCCCE) welcomes you and encourages you to seriously consider acceptance of employment in our community. In addition, MCCCE would like to offer an incentive of $1,000.00 payable to you upon verification of your hiring status as a certified teacher for the McCracken County School District.

MCCCE is a non‐profit organization that was created in 2007 to address the educational, employment and social needs of the African American community of Paducah/McCracken County Kentucky. To date, we have assisted numerous area students to attend college through our scholarship and ACT prep programs, financially supported several community‐based mentoring/tutoring organizations, promoted employment opportunities and advocated for equal opportunities.

The McCracken County School District has an African American student population of approximately 2.0%. We feel it is of importance that the diverse teacher population reflects the student population in a concerted effort to improve student achievement, development of positive role‐models and personalization of relationships. There is also a strong network of retired African American teachers that are willing to help new teachers acclimate to our community.

You are encouraged to visit our website at mccce.org and/or contact our office at 270‐444‐6962.

Thank you again for your careful consideration and we look forward to meeting you soon!
